Fire Island Summer Club, like its eastern neighbor Corneille Estates, is made up of only two blocks, Sloop Walk and Schooner Walk (also known as East Walk and West Walk, respectively). The community has only 40 homes and an exclusive, country club feel. The Summer Club is unique in that although it is made up entirely of single-family homes, the community is structured as a condominium. The standard lot size in the Summer Club is 60 X 100, but many homes are situated on double lots. The community maintains strict rental rules to ensure uninterrupted peace and quiet and to encourage owner occupancy. Summer Club residents enjoy private tennis courts and the bayfront community clubhouse. The clubhouse includes an updated fitness center and hosts community social events throughout the season. The clubhouse building was once the Blue Point coastguard station before being moved to Fire Island.
The Summer Club borders on a large swath of Fire Island National Seashore preserve area to its west, affording spectacular open views to the homes situated on the west side of Schooner Walk. Ferry service is from Ocean Beach, a short 10-minute walk to the east.
